To help you get the information you need as quickly as possible, here are the most Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: I’m new at the club. How does the registration process work?

A: Go to the Registration page for more details and read the “Note to first-time players”.

Q: My child wants to play in the same team as his friends.

A:

U6 players are grouped into random teams by the BJFC committee. The U6 – U7 competitions are run in-house, so all players will see, compete against and occasionally train with their friends from school. They will also quickly make friends with their new team members.

U7 – U11 players can nominate to roll over a full or partial team list by emailing the registrar. Team numbers are subject to change dependent on final age group numbers and team number restrictions.

U12 – U18 teams are selected based on merit through a grading process.The Grading Committee determines the players for each team and sometimes things don’t work out the way everyone would like. See Grading Policy for more details.

Q: At what age can my child start playing?

A: If your child will turn five by the end of July they are eligible to join the Club. Please note that there is no Under 5 competition, children are grouped into the Under 6 age group, so your child will be playing with older children. BJFC operate a MiniRoos program for U6-U11. Q: How many players are in a team?

A: BJFC operate a MiniRoos small sided game program for U6-U11, starting from 4 a side and working up to 9 a side. You can read more here: PLAYING FORMATS

Q: What date do games start?

A: Training commences around the end of February, dependent on your particular coach and team. The official game season commences last weekend in March.

Q: Are games played in school holidays?

A: Yes games are generally scheduled on the first and last weekend of school holidays.

Q: When and where are games played?

A:

U6 – U7:Games are played at the BJFC home ground only, on Saturday mornings between 8:30 – 10:00am

U8: Games are played on Saturday mornings, in locations between Figtree to Corrimal, between 8:30am – 12:30pm

U9 – U11: Games are played on Saturdays, in locations between Kiama and Helensburgh, between 8:30am – 2:30pm

U11 Girls: Games are played on Sundays, in locations between Kiama and Helensburgh, between 8:30am – 2:30pm

U12 – U18: Games can be played between Friday evening to Sunday, between Kiama and Helensburgh.

Q: What time is training?

A: Team training is run by volunteer parent coaches, and each team will set a training time together based on coach availability.

Q: Do you have a girl’s competition?

A: BJFC are proud to support girls in football, and have successful female teams in all graded age groups.

U6 – U10 age groups have mixed gender teams.

Girl’s only competitions begin at the Under 11 age group. Girls will have the choice of playing in mixed gender or girls only teams between U11 – U15, and then will join girls only teams from U16 up.

Q: What equipment / clothing do I need to buy?

A: Your child will be provided with:

A team playing shirt – this is owned by the Club and will be kept by your Manager.

Playing socks – In 2017 all players will be provided with a new pair of striped uniform socks.

You will need to purchase:

Black shorts – available to purchase from the Clubhouse at registration day or on Saturday mornings

Football boots

Shin Pads

Training jackets and polo shirts are also available to purchase (optional).

Q: Where do I buy uniform?

A: Uniform is available to purchase at Club registration days, and at the Clubhouse on Saturday mornings.

Q: At what age group does grading commence?

A: Grading commences with U12 teams.

Q: Our team wants to change the date/time of a fixture.
