To help you get the information you need as quickly as possible, here are the most Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: I’m new at the club. How does the registration process work?

Answer: Please go to the Registration Process Page for more details.

 

Q: My child wants to play in the same team as his friends.

Answer depends on your age group:

U6 – a team sorting day will be held in late February 2023.

U7 – U11 players can nominate to roll over a full or partial team list by emailing the registrar. Team numbers are subject to change dependent on final age group numbers and team number restrictions.

U12 – U18 teams are selected based on merit through a grading process.The Grading Committee determines the players for each team and sometimes things don’t work out the way everyone would like. See Grading Policy for more details.

 

Q: At what age can my child start playing?

Answer: If your child will turn five by the end of July they are eligible to join the Club. Please note that there is no Under 5 competition, children are grouped into the Under 6 age group, so your child will be playing with older children. BJFC operate a MiniRoos program for U6-U11. Q: How many players are in a team?

Answer : BJFC operate a MiniRoos small sided game program for U6-U11, starting from 4 a side and working up to 9 a side. You can read more here: PLAYING FORMATS

Q: What date do games start?

Answer: Training commences around the end of February / early March, dependent on your particular coach and team. The official game season commences in late March / early April and goes through until August for MiniRoos with the Finals extending into September for Graded teams.

 

Q: Are games played in school holidays?

Answer: Yes games are generally scheduled on the first and last weekend of school holidays.Games are not usually scheduled for the middle weekend.

 

Q: What time is training?

Answer: Team training is run by volunteer parent coaches, and each team will set a training time together based on coach availability.

 

Q: Do you have a girl’s competition?

Answer: Yes, in 2023 we are offering U6 – U11 age groups have mixed and all girld teams with female teams in U11 if there are sufficient players.

 

Q: What equipment / clothing do I need to buy?

Answer: Your child will be provided with:

A team playing shirt – this is owned by the Club and will be kept by your Manager.

You will need to purchase:

Black shorts and playing socks – available to purchase from the Clubhouse at registration day, on most playing days or via our online store. 

Football boots

Shin Pads

Training jackets and polo shirts are also available to purchase (optional).

 

Q: Where do I buy uniform?

Answer: Uniform is available to purchase at Club registration days,  Clubhouse on most playing days or via our online store.

 

Q: At what age group does grading commence?

Answer: Grading commences with U12 teams.

 

Q: Our team wants to change the date/time of a fixture.

Answer:  Please go to the Changing a fixture page.

 

Q: I was injured during a game and want to make an insurance claim.

Answer: Please go to the Injury claim page.

 

Q: Someone abused me at a game and I want to make a formal complaint.
